Where will the show be held ?

The three important things when running a business are LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION !
Our new hotel is the

Econo Lodge of Tucson

ECONOLODGE-HOTEL TUCSON
3020 South 6th Avenue and I-10 ( freeway exit 261 ).
As you can see on the map we are not far from the "strip" on I-10 and also not far from the action at Tucson Electric Park, Benson
Hiway (new Marty Zinn Show) and the shows arround the Holidome).
The hotel is highly visible from the Freeway I-10 and easy to access.
There is plenty of parking at the hotel and nearby.
A Mexican restaurant is on the premises. A now disfunct gas station could provide adittional parking or exhibition space
( may be tents ?).
We will be not at the end of the action or far out isolated in the middle of nowhere.
This location is also perfect to be serviced by two different shuttle routes.

The arrow shows the location on the Tucson map !

Do I need to register as a buyer ?
No ! We do not play this gimmick games with show registration, make it look like you need a special blessing to walk arround our show.
Our dealers sell wholesale and retail we are open to the public.

What will you find at our show ?

As the name of our show says that will be the SPECTRUM OF STONES so we will have all kinds of minerals, crystals, fossils,
meteorites, cut and rough gemstones and also jewelry and rock related items like literature and equipment.
We will not have glas beads, pottery, wood carvings, carpets, paintings, scarfs, clothing, incense, glasware etc.

How can you make a reservation ?

Reservation for selling rooms are closed now, however some sleeping rooms may be still available which you can reserve directly over the hotel
or over the website of www.choicehotels.com

Will there be a show in 2009 ?

Yes ! There will be a Spectrum-of-Stones show in 2009, however we are thinking about other hotel options, too !
If you are interested to be in our show in 2009 let me know during the 2008 show and pay your show fee and room deposit
on the spot. Its tiresome to deal with people who promise 90 or 100 % they want to have a room for next year but then do not put their money where their mouth is. The show fee for 2009 is planned to be US-$ 600.00 and a room deposit which goes to the hotel of about $ 150.00 .

Why should you consider our show in 2009 ?

We are the only show in Tucson run by dealers for dealers, may be a little bit in the tradition of the good old Desert Inn times or the notorious "La Quinta Group". There is no guy (or lady ) there shovling in a huge profit in his or her pocket.
There is nobody pushing you arround charging you extras or throwing you out of the show because his buddy needs a prime room.
People come to Tucson because of you the dealers and your merchandise not because of the fantastic show promotors.

What about traffic ?

6th Avenue is the first freeway exit after the I-10 construction zone. Between Prince Road and 22nd there is no freeway access !
See I-10 construction .
Along the freeway there will be 3-lane one way streets to cover all the "inner city traffic" which used to take the freeway traffic. Getting to the hotels on the strip along I-10 like Days Inn, Riverside, Howard Johnsons or Holiday Inn Express you will have a hard time.
We are completely out of this mess !

How do I get to your show_?

From the freeway either westbound to Phoenix or eastbound to El Paso take 6th Avenue exit (#261) to the north. As it may be tricky in times of high traffic to make a left turn into the hotel property immidiately you should use this workaround. Drive forward to the next traffic light and turn left into the shopping center and use that to make a U-turn so that are southbound and can turn right into the hotel property.
However if traffic piles up also on the right use the back alley from the shopping center as shown on the picture.

workarround traffic
From the inner city its a little bit tricky as 6th Avenue is a one-way street there, use Stone Avenue instead southbound which will turn into 6hh Avenue.
You might also proceed on Speedway, Broadway, 22nd Street and turn south into S. Campell Avenue respectivly S. Kino Parkway, hop on the freeway westbound towards Phoenix and exit again at 6th Avenue.
Here comes a Google map :

What about parking ?

We have plenty of free parking on hotel premises, also there is a shopping center within walking distance.

What about shuttle service ?

Our show is serviced by the regular shuttle service run by the City of Tucson. Also one of our dealers volunteered to run a shuttle on his own behalf as a pirate shuttle to catch buyers from other places..

What about safety issues ?

We are situated in the City of South Tucson so our police is South Tucson police with headquarters just a few blocks away. They have only been very few minor problems (the worst crime was one stolen banner of our show). However South Tucson police responded very quickly in all cases ( e.g. chasing shady characters loitring on hotel property). The whole property is fenced, video monitored and only accessable over the lobby.

What else ?

There is a Mexican Restaurant on the premises, a Little Caesars pizza joint in the shopping center in a walking distance, where you also will find a supermarket with liquor shop and a 99cent store for all your needs.
Tucson Electric Park , Quality Inn (Marty Zinn Show) and Holidome shows are easy to access by car as we are out of the traffic jam.

A blast from past !

I included a somehow funny video for you which will explain why we have the Spectrum of Stones Show which had been created by some former long time dealers of the Executive Inn. However please note that the ownership of the Executive Inn changed again in 2007 and the new owners seem to be very nice people to work with. Unfortunately they need to fight with the former owner and self invented "show promotor" about the right to have a show at their own property. I do not know yet what will happen at the Executive Inn in 2009, but stay tuned !

I heard your show got canceled ?

As you see we are not canceled ! Yes some people with their own interests in the business like to spread stories and rumors to kill our show.
It has been true that we got into trouble as the hotel changed ownership in November which took us all by surprise.
However the situation is under control and we are looking forward to 2009.

We will be back at the Executive Inn in 2009 !

Well as in the movies against all odds the good guys win at last and get the girl (or the show).
So as since 2007 the Executive Inn has new owners and they finaly got rid off the wannabe show-promoter and ex-owner of the hotel Mr.Rampal Yadaf we will have a fresh start in 2009 ! When you go to the Executive Inn now, you already will notice a lot of changes, as no tents blocking the parking lot, new banners, a remodeled hotel, a bar and a restaurant where you would like to hang out, with nightly entertainment, good food, good beer etc....
Rooms are signed up quickly for 2009. Take your pick now and contact our new show manager
